National Economic Empowerment Fund is holding a consultation meeting with persons living with disabilities. This is a way to create inclusive opportunities for every member of our society.
In his inspiring speech, Mr. George Chiusiwa who is the Executive Director emphasized the importance of economic empowerment for individuals with disabilities. He passionately highlighted the untapped potential within this community and how harnessing their skills and abilities could contribute significantly to the nation’s economic growth. Mr. Chiusiwa urged everyone to break down barriers and work towards creating an environment where individuals with disabilities can thrive in various economic sectors.
“We believe in a society where everyone, regardless of their abilities, has the opportunity to contribute meaningfully to the economy. It’s not just a matter of inclusivity; it’s about recognizing the immense talent and potential that exists,” said Mr. Chiusiwa.
The Head of Credit Mr. Felix Tembo, representing the National Economic Empowerment Fund, echoed this sentiment and underlined NEEF’s commitment to providing financial support and resources to empower people living with disabilities. He shared NEEF’s motive to ensure that they have equal access to opportunities for economic advancement.
“Our goal is not just to provide financial assistance but to create a supportive ecosystem that enables individuals with disabilities to become self-reliant and actively participate in the economic development of our nation,” affirmed Mr. Tembo.

The Malawi Council for the Handicapped and the National Economic Empowerment Fund are set to work hand-in-hand, breaking down barriers and creating pathways for economic independence for people with disabilities.
