  1. A certain pastor by the name of Pator Kam’masamba is going around in churches informing people that he is facilitating MEDEF loans and he is asking for 4,500 kwacha per person as processing fee. Unfortunately the process itself is questionable and suspicious, for example on 13 August,2020 he was at Nsungwi CCAP in Area 25 Lilongwe and he bragged of his connection with MCP.However to my surprise we were registered as a group of 20 people but the loan application form had information already of bank account details for the group which was indicating Zomba and had three names of signatories who we doesn’t know them we we’re just asked to trust him despite the fact that we provided our personal details like IDs and we we’re worried that what if the signatories which we doesn’t know them and they stay in Zomba collects the money from MADEF if the loan gets approval and run our with the money while we have provided our information as proof of our permanent residence. When we confronted him he got furious and warned to give us our money back for mistrusting him when actually we were just trying to understand the exact truth about the procedure.I withdrawn my participation but the rest of the group has proceeded.
What is your take on this matter before I report the issue to HRDC and anti corruption bureau as a whistle blower because this gentleman is politicing the loans and campaigning for MCP,are the loans for only MCP people ,if not why is he mentioning alot about Dr.Chakwera and MCP?
Is he following your procedures or is he representing MEDEF? If yes in what capacity.
    Kind regards
    Khama

    1. Hello Khama,

MEDF does not use agents to disburse loans. Medf has laid down procedures which include physical validations of loan beneficiaries. Loans can never be applied through third parties. MEDF does not sell Application forms by the people nor ask for any cash for loan processing as it is illegal. Malawians are advised to avoid giving money to anyone in the Name Of MEDF and the best thing to do is visit our branches near you. Further we have hotlines which clients can call. 0999941333/0999938333 or email any other quiries to complaints@medf.mw . Any impostor must reported to Police.

  2. Hello, am based in south Africa but January 2021 I would like to start my small business in karonga chilumba, I will open a cosmetics shop, do I need joining fee to get a MEDEF loan or what steps should I follow?

    1. Hello Hopkins, we currently stopped disbursing the loans as Government is reviewing the process. We will communicate to the public soon once the new procedures are set and adopted by Government.
