As part of implementing wellbeing and mental health in the workplace, management decided to address factors that will enhance this through regular exercises and practical sense of belonging for all MEDF employees.
Considering the fact that we spend more time at the office than at our homes, MEDF introduced social activities that take place in all MEDF offices across the country.
On the 26th of October, 2019, our staff from the Head Office went to Salima, Kabumba Beach for team building. This activity was done to connect departments. Sometimes it is difficult for employees to socialize to work due to the office lay-out/ different department not having any contact with one another. So, by simply taking the time to introduce teammates from different departments of Branches we have managed to create good relationships among staff.
As you can see through the pictures, you can tell how excited people were connecting with each other.
Furthermore, on the 8th November 2019, we had another activity of Healthy Walk. This was done in all MEDF offices across the country. This day was a launch for all MEDF social activities. It was opened by the CEO, Ms Mervis Mangulenje and facilitated by Mphatso Naveya who is the Audit Internal Manager. The walk started from Gateway Mall to Likuni roundabout and back. This whole activity was an achievement to MEDF because apart from networking and socializing but it will also help in reducing stress among staff. We noted that the mind can only take so much before it becomes overloaded by too much data or activity, which can ultimately lead to stress. Hence we believe that these healthy walks will increase productivity in our staff members.
Below are some of the pictures captured from Head Office and MEDF offices across the country.
