The National Economic Empowerment Fund (NEEF) CEO, Mr. Humphrey Mdyetseni, issued a stern warning to clients who are not repaying their loans. In a recent interview, in Lilongwe at the NEEF Head Offices, Mdyetseni emphasized the negative impact of non-repayment on the revolving Fund, which is crucial for providing loans to others.

β€œAs an institution, we sometimes face financial shortages, preventing us from issuing new loans in some areas due to clients not repaying their previous loans. We urge those who have not repaid, or are unwilling to do so, to fulfill their obligations. Delayed repayments are holding others back from accessing these much-needed funds,” Mdyetseni stated.

He further praised people from Mzimba and Rumphi districts for their exemplary loan repayment practices and encouraged others to follow suit. β€œThis kind of dedication allows us to support more citizens with new loans. We also call on local leaders, counselors, and church leaders to help spread the message that these loans are not grants; they must be repaid,” he added.

NEEF continues to emphasize the importance of financial responsibility to ensure the sustainability and growth of its revolving fund, which is continuously benefiting communities across Malawi.
